Why I Started KhryssyLLC (And Why It Was the Scariest Best Decision I Ever Made)

Intro
There's always a moment. A moment where something shifts inside of you and you realize you can't keep doing the same thing and expect a different result. For me, that moment didn't come with a big dramatic speech or a lightning bolt from the sky. It came quietly — in the middle of a regular Tuesday — when I realized I had more to give than what one job could hold.
That's when KhryssyLLC was born. And honestly? I was terrified.
The Idea Behind the Brand
I've always loved self-expression. The way a great outfit can change your whole mood, give you confidence before you even walk in the room, or make someone across the parking lot smile because your shirt said exactly what they were thinking — that's powerful. I wanted to create something that captured that feeling for women like me. Women who are funny, faith-filled, proud, a little extra, and completely unapologetic about all of it.
KhryssyLLC started as a print-on-demand apparel brand rooted in Greenville, SC, and it's grown into something I'm deeply proud of — a collection of designs for teachers, mamas, bosses, graduates, and women who wear their whole personality on the outside.
Balancing Teaching and Entrepreneurship
Here's what no one tells you when you start a business while working full-time: it's a lot. I'm a virtual teacher by day and a business owner in every margin of time I can find — early mornings, late nights, weekends, and lunch breaks. It requires an intentional system, a whole lot of grace, and the willingness to be bad at something before you get good at it.
But it also taught me more about myself than anything else I've ever done. I learned I could figure things out. I learned I could build something from nothing. I learned that the fear of starting is always louder than the actual work of doing.
What Faith Had to Do With It
I won't pretend like faith wasn't a massive part of this. There were moments where I couldn't see the whole picture — the how, the when, the what if it doesn't work — and all I had was the belief that I was supposed to do this. That the vision was given to me for a reason. That showing up consistently, even when the results weren't there yet, was an act of obedience.
I'm still in that journey. But every order, every new design, every customer who messages me saying "this shirt is so me" reminds me exactly why I started.
What's Next for KhryssyLLC
This summer, I'm going all in. I'll be focused full-time on growing KhryssyLLC — expanding the collection, building better systems, and showing up more consistently for the community we're building. It's a focused season of intention, and I am here for every part of it.
