How I'm Using My Summer to Build My Dream Business

Most people use summer to rest — and I am too. But I'm also using it to build something bigger. Here's how I'm spending my summer growing KhryssyLLC into my full-time dream business. 💕
School is out. And while everyone else is planning their vacations and Netflix queues, I'm planning something a little different. This summer, I'm going all in on KhryssyLLC — and I want to take you behind the scenes of what that actually looks like.
This isn't about hustle culture. This isn't about grinding until you collapse. This is about using a focused season of time intentionally, doing the work that moves the needle, and building something that lasts beyond the summer.
I've been building KhryssyLLC in the margins — before school, after school, on weekends, during lunch breaks. And we've made real progress that way. But there's a different kind of momentum that's possible when you can give something your full attention, even temporarily.
This summer — from May 22nd through the first week of August — I'm in it full-time. Not quitting teaching (I've got one more year), but using this window to build systems, expand the collection, and show up for this brand in a way the margins couldn't always allow.
Here's what the summer sprint looks like:
• Completing the full product catalog upload across Shopify, Etsy, and Faire
• Creating content batches so I'm not starting from zero every week
• Optimizing my email automations in Klaviyo
• Building out the school and family reunion collection
• Growing the KhryssyLLC community on social media
• Setting up systems that will run while I'm back in the classroom in August
The number one thing I've learned in this season is that consistency beats perfection every time. I used to wait until I had the perfect photo, the perfect caption, the perfect moment to launch something. Now I know: done and posted beats perfect and sitting in drafts.
The second thing is that systems are everything. The more I can batch, automate, and template, the more I can actually enjoy this process instead of feeling buried by it.
If you have a dream and you're building it between a full-time job, a family, and everything else life asks of you — this is for you. You don't have to have unlimited time to build something real. You just have to be intentional with the time you do have.
Every small step counts. Every listing, every email, every post — it adds up. And there will come a season when the margins expand and you get more room to run. Use it well when it comes.
I don't know exactly what this summer will produce. But I know it will move KhryssyLLC forward in ways that the school year schedule simply couldn't. And I am genuinely excited about that.
